  • Ich bin hier.

    I am here.

    Use ich bin to say “I am.”

    You are my baby.

    Du is the familiar form of “you,” used when speaking to your baby.

    Papa is a warm, everyday word for “dad.”

Personal pronouns with sein

Sein means “to be.” Its form changes with the subject. In these simple statements, put the subject first and the verb second.

Saying “my” and “your”

Mein means “my.” Dein means “your” when speaking to one familiar person. In these sentences, add -e before feminine or plural nouns. The ending follows the noun, not the person speaking.
