Tildi is a family language app led by the parent and designed for learning together. Instead of relying on generic drills, it combines a guided A1–C2 course built around everyday family moments with practice from the picture books you already read, helping new language become part of real family life.

Tildi is designed for a parent to learn and practise alongside their child. The adult manages the account and guides the routine, while the child can join in with stories, listening, games and conversations. The words are simple, the controls are clear and activities are built for shared use.

Tildi supports 15 learning languages: Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish and English. The app interface, instructions, translations and hints are currently in English, so you choose the language your family wants to learn.

Yes. The guided course starts at A1 for complete beginners and continues through A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. English translations, natural audio, hints and guided practice help you begin even if you do not speak the learning language yet, then gradually use more of it with your child.

Tildi has four age tracks: babies and toddlers aged 0–2, preschoolers aged 3–5, primary school children aged 6–8 and older children aged 9+. You choose the closest fit, and the course adjusts its family situations and dialogue while the parent follows the same A1–C2 progression.

Some activities use the screen, but the aim is to carry what you practise into real family moments and physical books. A short lesson can prepare you to use a phrase at breakfast, during bath time or while reading together, rather than making the app the whole learning experience.

Tildi organises the course into CEFR levels from beginner A1 to advanced C2. Each level has 40 units based on useful parenting and family moments. You work through one level at a time, building vocabulary, listening, speaking, grammar and conversation skills before moving to the next level.

Each regular unit has eight different steps: New words, Build the phrase, Listen and say, Grammar gym, Story time, Talk with Tildi, a two-voice Conversation and a mixed Unit checkpoint. The variety moves you from recognising new language to hearing, building and using it in context.

The course uses the age track in your settings to choose suitable routines, roles and dialogue. A lesson for a baby or toddler might involve feeding, bath time or a nursery check-in, while older-child tracks use school, friendships and growing independence. Even baby scenarios keep a useful question-and-answer flow.

A Unit checkpoint recaps the eight steps in that unit. Four times in every 40-unit level, the path opens a longer 30-question milestone test covering everything learnt up to that quarter. Score 70% or more to pass and earn a badge. You see your score and can retake it whenever needed.

Talk with Tildi is a guided AI role-play with a defined family scenario and learning goal. It responds to what you say while keeping the practice focused. Conversation lessons let you hear and follow a prepared two-voice exchange. Both help turn unit vocabulary into useful back-and-forth speech.

Completed activities earn stars and build your daily streak. Tildi also records monthly activity, course progress, badges and progress towards vocabulary milestones. Your words and achievements remain together across the app. If you choose, you can create a public progress link to celebrate with family members.

Each age track keeps its own course position, so switching back restores where you left off for that age. Changing the learning level loads that level’s path. Your completed-lesson history, collected and mastered words, stars and streak stay visible across the account rather than disappearing when the track changes.

Open Tildi on your phone, choose Scan a book and photograph a clear page from a printed picture book. Tildi reads the page and collects useful words and phrases in the language you are learning. Those words can then appear in book lessons, your word list and the adaptive Daily Library Lesson.

Printed picture books in the language you are learning work best. Choose pages with clear, readable text and photograph one page at a time. Your books do not need to follow the Tildi course because the book-based activities are a separate way to practise the language your family already meets while reading together.

The Daily Library Lesson is about 10 minutes of mixed practice using vocabulary from your scanned books. It combines Quick Quiz, Match Pairs, Phrase Builder, Translator and reading practice. The featured books and words change from day to day, while useful older vocabulary returns when it is time to review.

Tildi first brings back recently missed words that are due, then other words ready for review, and finally varied new vocabulary spread across your books. When you remember a word successfully, the time before its next review grows. This balances useful recall with enough new material to keep lessons fresh.

Practice includes Quick Quiz, Match Pairs, Phrase Builder, Translator, Fill in the Blank, Word Swap, Opposite Pairs, Grammar Feed and vocabulary tests. You can hear words and phrases spoken naturally, then use pronunciation activities to say them aloud and receive a score and feedback on your attempt.

Phrase packs are practical collections for family moments such as bath time, cafés, the doctor or the school run. Pro members can also make custom packs. Your word list brings together vocabulary collected from books, packs, lessons and chats, with audio and a clear view of what you are still learning or have mastered.

Yes. Every new account starts with a 7-day trial of Tildi Pro, and you do not need to enter a payment card. You can explore the full Pro experience first. If you do not subscribe when the trial ends, the account switches to the free plan instead of charging you.

Tildi Pro costs £9.99 per month or £79.99 per year. The annual option works out at about £6.67 a month and saves 33% compared with paying monthly. Prices include applicable taxes where required. New accounts begin with the 7-day trial, with no payment card needed.

If you do not subscribe after the 7-day Pro trial, your account automatically moves to the free plan and you are not charged. You keep your progress, can complete one course step every day and use the Daily Library Lesson with your active book, and can upgrade any time to learn as much as you like.

Yes. Tildi is a web app that works in modern browsers on iPhone, Android phones, iPad and desktop computers. There is nothing to download from an app store. Sign in through your browser and your course, books and progress stay connected to your account across devices.

Yes. You can add Tildi to your phone’s home screen so it opens more like an installed app. The final onboarding step gives optional instructions for your device. You can install it then, skip the step and continue in the browser, or add it later using your browser’s home-screen option.

Tildi is designed for learning together rather than independent child use. An adult manages the account and starts the activities, while the child can join in with stories, listening and practice. There is no social feed or contact with other users, and guided conversations stay within language-learning scenarios.

Talk with Tildi responds to the learner, but each chat begins with a defined family scenario, level and learning goal. It guides the exchange line by line and ends as a lesson, rather than acting as an unrestricted general-purpose chat. Conversation steps use prepared two-voice dialogue for focused listening and speaking practice.

Your book scans, voice recordings and learning progress are tied to your account and are not published for or shared with other Tildi users. An adult account holder can deliberately create a public progress link to share achievements with family. You control whether that optional link is created.

No. Stripe handles subscription payments, invoices and refunds, so Tildi does not store your payment-card details. Your Tildi account keeps the information needed for your plan and learning experience, while your card information remains with the specialist payment provider.
