Spanish phrases for a2 three-quarter milestone

  • ¿Podrías poner una pelota pequeña en el armario?

    Could you put a small ball in the cupboard?

    Uses 'podrías' for a polite request and 'pequeña' follows the noun.

  • ¿Vas con tu amigo y sin tu teléfono?

    Are you going with your friend and without your phone?

    Uses 'con' (with) and 'sin' (without) to show companionship and lack.

    Have you brushed your hair?

    Reflexive verb 'cepillarse' in the Pretérito Perfecto tense.

  • ¿Sabes cuándo empieza la fiesta de pijamas?

    Do you know when the sleepover starts?

    An indirect question where 'cuándo' retains its accent mark.

  • Has participado en la actividad del club.

    You took part in the club activity.

    Uses 'participar en' to describe involvement in an event.

  • El proyecto fue difícil. Aun así, lo terminaste.

    The project was difficult. Still, you finished it.

    'Aun así' is used to express contrast, similar to 'nevertheless' or 'still'.

  • Por favor, limpia la mesa antes de empezar tu juego.

    Please clear the table before you start your game.

    'Antes de' is followed by the infinitive 'empezar' when the subject remains the same.

  • Estoy orgulloso porque planeaste el viaje tú mismo.

    I am proud because you planned the trip yourself.

    'Tú mismo' emphasizes the child's independent action.
