One Step Before a Bigger Ask in Spanish
Managing expectations is a key part of parenting. When a child's request or a task's requirement is beyond current capacity, using 'ni hablar de' or 'menos aún' (the Spanish equivalents of 'let alone') helps frame the situation realistically by comparing a smaller, difficult step to an even more unlikely larger one.
What you'll learn
- Express scalar negation using 'ni hablar de', 'menos aún', or 'ni mucho menos'.
- Link parallel noun phrases and verbal phrases in negative contexts.
- Formulate complex sentences where the second part is even less probable than the first.
