Spanish phrases for find your school things

  • Tu libro está sobre la mesa.

    Your book is on the table.

    'Sobre' means on or on top of.

  • Tu lápiz está debajo de la silla.

    Your pencil is under the chair.

    'Debajo de' always needs 'de' before the noun.

  • Tu lonchera está en tu mochila.

    Your lunchbox is in your school bag.

    'En' can mean both 'in' and 'on' depending on context.

  • Tu botella está al lado de tu mochila.

    Your bottle is next to your bag.

    'Al lado de' is a common phrase for 'beside' or 'next to'.

  • Tu mochila está detrás de la puerta.

    Your bag is behind the door.

    'Detrás de' indicates position in the back.

  • Tu regla está sobre el escritorio.

    Your ruler is on the desk.

    'Escritorio' is specifically a writing desk.

  • Tus zapatos están debajo de la cama.

    Your shoes are under the bed.

    Notice we use 'están' because 'zapatos' is plural.

  • Tu goma está en tu estuche.

    Your rubber is in your pencil case.

    'Goma' is used for eraser/rubber in Spain; 'borrador' is common in Latin America.
