There are some books on your desk.
'Hay' is used for both singular and plural existence.
Por favor, elige un juego.
Please choose a game.
'Elige' is the informal command form for a child.
¿Vas a traer un paraguas?
Are you going to bring an umbrella?
'Paraguas' stays the same in both singular and plural form.
Hace sol hoy.
It is sunny today.
We use 'hace' (it makes) for weather instead of 'es' (it is).
