Little Reasons Explained in Spanish

Helping your baby understand the 'why' behind your actions is a great way to bond and build their vocabulary. In Spanish, we use 'por eso' to connect a reason with an action, similar to 'that is why' or 'therefore' in English.

What you'll learn

  • Learn to express cause and effect using 'por eso'
  • Identify common baby-related needs (hunger, sleep, hygiene)
  • Understand the word order when providing explanations

Spanish phrases for little reasons explained

  • Tienes hambre. Por eso estoy calentando tu leche.

You are hungry. That is why I am warming your milk.

'Por eso' connects the hunger to the action of warming milk.

Your nappy is wet. That is why I am changing it.

'Lo' refers back to 'el pañal'.

  • Estás cansado. Por eso vamos a casa.

You are tired. That is why we are going home.

Use 'cansada' if your baby is a girl.

'Brilla mucho' translates to 'shines a lot'.

Your hands are dirty. That is why I am washing them.

In Spanish, we say 'you have the hands' rather than 'your hands'.

You are asleep. That is why I am speaking quietly.

'Bajito' is a common way to say softly or quietly.
