Time for Cuddles in German

German phrases for time for cuddles
Es ist sieben Uhr, du Schlafmütze.
It's seven o'clock, sleepyhead.
Du Schlafmütze is a playful way to address a sleepy child.
Es ist halb acht, Zeit für Milch.
It's half past seven, milk time.
Halb acht means halfway to eight: 7:30.
Es ist acht Uhr, Zeit fürs Frühstück.
It's eight o'clock, breakfast time.
Fürs is short for für das.
Es ist Viertel nach neun, Zeit zum Baden.
It's quarter past nine, bath time.
Viertel nach neun means 9:15. Zeit zum Baden means time for a bath.
Es ist halb elf, Zeit für ein Nickerchen.
It's half past ten, nap time.
Halb elf means 10:30. Ein Nickerchen is a short nap.
Es ist zwölf Uhr, Zeit fürs Mittagessen.
It's twelve o'clock, lunch time.
Das Mittagessen means lunch.
Es ist Viertel vor drei, Zeit zum Kuscheln.
It's quarter to three, cuddle time.
Viertel vor drei means 2:45. Kuscheln means to cuddle.
Es ist sechs Uhr, Zeit fürs Bett.
It's six o'clock, bedtime.
Zeit fürs Bett is a natural way to say time for bed.

Whole hours
Start with Es ist (it's), then say the hour followed by Uhr. Uhr means o'clock here.

Half past and quarter hours
German halb names the next hour, not the hour just passed. Viertel nach means quarter past; Viertel vor means quarter to. Do not add Uhr to these spoken forms.

Time for a routine
Use Zeit für with a noun. Fürs combines für and das. To name an activity, use Zeit zum followed by a capitalised verb used as a noun.

Remember: halb acht is 7:30, not 8:30.
