Spanish phrases for a parcel to help another family

  • Esta manta es para el bebé.

    This blanket is for the baby.

    'Para' is used here to show the recipient.

  • Tenemos un abrigo para el niño pequeño.

    We have a coat for the little boy.

    'Niño pequeño' is a common way to say little boy.

  • Estos libros son para otra familia.

    These books are for another family.

    'Otra' means 'another' or 'other'.

  • ¿Empacamos un rompecabezas para ellos?

    Shall we pack a puzzle for them?

    'Ellos' is the pronoun for 'them' (masculine/mixed).

  • Este gorro caliente es para ella.

    This warm hat is for her.

    'Ella' remains the same after the preposition 'para'.

  • Hay un peluche para él también.

    There is a soft toy for him too.

    Note the accent on 'él' (him) to distinguish it from 'el' (the).

  • ¿Podemos hacer una tarjeta para los niños?

    Can we make a card for the children?

    'Los niños' can mean 'the children' in general.

  • Esta caja es para todos ustedes.

    This box is for all of you.

    'Ustedes' is used for 'you all' in Latin American Spanish.

Using 'Para' with Recipients

To say 'for someone' in Spanish, we use the preposition 'para'. When following 'para' with a pronoun, most pronouns look like the ones used as subjects (él, ella, nosotros, ellos, ustedes).
