Just as tall as you in Spanish

Spanish phrases for just as tall as you

  • Mi torre es tan alta como la tuya.

    My tower is as tall as yours.

    Alta ends in 'a' because torre (tower) is feminine.

  • Este cojín es tan suave como Teddy.

    This cushion is just as soft as Teddy.

    'Tan' expresses 'just as' or 'so' in this context.

  • Tu galleta es tan grande como la mía.

    Your biscuit is as big as mine.

    'La mía' means 'mine' for a feminine noun (galleta).

  • Puedo saltar tan lejos como tú.

    I can jump just as far as you.

    'Tan lejos como' is used for distance (adverb).

  • Esta caja no es tan pesada como esa.

    This box is not as heavy as that one.

    'No tan' is the standard way to say 'not as'.

  • El agua no está tan fría como ayer.

    The water is not as cold as yesterday.

    We use 'está' because water temperature is a temporary state.

  • Nuestro tambor pequeño es tan ruidoso como el tuyo.

    Our little drum is as loud as yours.

    'El tuyo' means 'yours' for a masculine noun (tambor).

  • Este rompecabezas no es tan fácil como el otro.

    This puzzle is not as easy as the other one.

    'El otro' literally translates to 'the other'.

Equality with Adjectives

To compare two things that have the same quality, use: tan + adjective + como. The adjective must agree in gender and number with the first noun.

Inequality (Not as... as)

To say something is 'not as' something else, simply add 'no' before the verb.
