Spanish phrases for meet your friends
Yo soy tu mamá.
I am your mum.
'Yo' means 'I' and 'soy' is the 'am' form of the verb 'ser'.
Tienes seis años.
You are six.
Note: Spanish uses 'tener' (to have) instead of 'to be' for age!
Él es tu amigo.
He is your friend.
'Él' (He) always has an accent to distinguish it from 'el' (the).
Ella es tu maestra.
She is your teacher.
Use 'maestra' for a female teacher and 'maestro' for a male teacher.
Es tu turno.
It is your turn.
In Spanish, we often omit the word for 'it' when starting a sentence.
Somos un equipo.
We are a team.
'Somos' is the 'we' form of 'ser'.
Ustedes son bienvenidos.
You are all welcome.
'Ustedes' is used for 'you all' in Latin American Spanish.
Ellos son tus compañeros.
They are your classmates.
'Compañeros' refers to classmates or peers.

Use 'tu' for one item and 'tus' for multiple items (like classmates).
Personal Pronouns & The Verb 'Ser'
Spanish uses the verb 'ser' to describe who someone is. Notice how the verb changes with each person.
