Spanish phrases for hello little baby

  • Yo estoy aquí.

    I am here.

    We use 'estoy' because being 'here' is a location.

  • Tú eres mi bebé.

    You are my baby.

    We use 'eres' for identity—who the baby is to you.

  • Él es tu papá.

    He is your dad.

    Don't forget the accent on 'Él' (He) and 'papá' (dad).

  • Ella es tu abuela.

    She is your grandma.

    Family titles help baby learn the people around them.

  • Es tu biberón.

    It is your bottle.

    Spanish doesn't usually use a word for 'it'; we just start with the verb.

  • Estamos juntos.

    We are together.

    A lovely phrase for bonding moments.

  • Son tus juguetes.

    They are your toys.

    Use 'son' for plural objects.

  • Tienes sueño.

    You are sleepy.

    Note: Spanish speakers say 'you have sleep' instead of 'you are sleepy'.

Two Types of 'To Be'

Spanish uses two verbs for 'to be': SER for identity and ESTAR for location or temporary states.
