Restricting a claim to what you know
An epistemic soweit clause means 'as far as' or 'to the extent that' your knowledge supports a statement. It leaves room for missing information or later correction without necessarily suggesting that the statement is unlikely. Write soweit as one word in this use.

Clause-final verbs and placement
The finite verb comes last in the soweit clause: weiß, ist or kann. With beurteilen kann, the infinitive precedes the finite modal verb. Separate the limiting clause with a comma. When it comes first, the main-clause finite verb follows the comma directly; the limiting clause can also follow the main statement.

Soweit is not sofern
Here, soweit restricts how much you can claim to know. Sofern means 'provided that' and introduces a condition that must be met. Both take clause-final verbs, but they do different jobs and are not interchangeable in these knowledge-limiting phrases.
