Zustandspassiv: describing the result
Use a form of sein + Partizip II to describe the state that results from an action. The focus is on how things are now, rather than on someone changing them.

Recognising state descriptions
Ist ausgeschaltet means that something is now off; it does not describe switching it off in progress. Keep the participle unchanged with singular and plural subjects. Not every phrase with sein is Zustandspassiv: sichtbar is an adjective, so sind sichtbar simply means “are visible.”
